Taylor McGraw

Profile

Taylor moved to New York in 2012 to join Teach for America. He taught for five years at charter schools in Harlem and Bushwick before leaving the classroom to help launch The Bell. As a USA Today editorial intern, he wrote about a number of topics, including education. His education writing has also appeared in The Hechinger Report and Narratively. He is currently working on a book about a summer he spent with the Washington Square Park “chess hustlers.” McGraw holds a B.A. in Public Policy Leadership from the University of Mississippi, an M.A. in Teaching from Relay Graduate School of Education, and an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from The New School. He grew up in Oxford, Mississippi.
